Throughout 2023-2024, Summer Willis undertook an extraordinary challenge—completing 29 marathons in a single year. Each 26.2-mile race became a platform to raise awareness about sexual violence and connect with survivors nationwide.
This campaign wasn’t just about physical endurance—it was about creating conversation and community in cities across America. At each marathon, Summer shared her story, listened to others, and built a nationwide network of survivors and allies committed to changing how we talk about and address sexual violence.
The number 29 was chosen to represent the 29% of sexual assaults that are reported to law enforcement—highlighting both progress made and the work still to be done.
